Ouimette was pleased with his accomplishment. “I’m just going to be focusing on playing more and more poker games. I’ve been doing it full time for three years now and I’ve learned from the best players in the world, so I am pretty confident,” he said.

Ouimette’s win in this particular event is notable because he was up against a fairly strong poker professional as Amarith Keo was his opponent. What’s more, Amarith Keo had the chip lead and was maintaining without any trouble for several hours of play against the Windsor player. Eventually, Justin Ouimette had to go all in based on an Ace in his hand to stand a chance to win the Canadian Poker Classic. Justin Ouimette took in a total of $66,000 as the prize money. “I knew once I saw the ace come up in the turn, I was in pretty good shape,” he said.

Justin Ouimette commented on the main event of the Canadian Poker Classic. “It was three long days of poker. It was a really tough field with a lot of good poker players. I played really good. It was just a great feeling to win,” he said.

This edition of the Canadian Poker Classic tournament was hosted by the Stardust Poker Mansion based in Kanhawaka. Justin Ouimette, although not a big league or high roller player in the industry, did well enough for himself in the Canadian Poker Classic and was pleased to have competed against players like Gambino. “The great thing about poker is it brings all kinds of people together. I’ve played against celebrities and top-rated poker pros before but it’s not every day someone like me gets the chance to stay that they knocked out a UFC fighter like Joey Gambino,” the player said.

The Canadian Poker Classic Main Event was great because the structure benefitted good players and they had good dealers, free drinks and food, so it was a great value,” said Ouimette. “I hope we’ll see more live events of this caliber in Canada.
