THE THUNDER RUN IS A POKER RUN ORGANIZED AND PRODUCED BY THE LAKE CUMBERLAND POWERBOAT CLUB AND HOSTED OUT OF STATE DOCK MARINA THAT TAKES PLACE ON BEAUTIFUL LAKE CUMBERLAND KY. Poker Run Lake Cumberland 2021
Due to the recent spike in Coronavirus cases, the State of Kentucky has rolled back gatherings to less than 10 people and requires facemasks in public areas. After several planning sessions and feedback from the State of Kentucky regarding groups of 10 or more, we have made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s annual Poker Run held at State Dock Marina.
We look forward to this event each year as it is the highlight and culmination of our season. The event has grown over the years and is now one of the premier events on Lake Cumberland.
Many of you have reservations with us this year and we hope that you will still enjoy the lake and a vacation away from the daily grind with us at State Dock. Understanding some only stay for the Run, we will accommodate those with cancellations as soon as possible.
The staff will be reaching out to sponsors, reservations, and participants to assist in confirming, rescheduling, or canceling your trip. Again, we hope to see you for a fun Holiday Weekend albeit, in compliance with the State CDC’s requirements for social distancing.

LAKE CUMBERLAND, Ky. (LEX 18) — At least 40 people were arrested over the weekend by Fish and Wildlife officers during Poker Run on Lake Cumberland.
23 of those people were arrested Saturday night on a variety of charges - including boating under the influence and alcohol intoxication.
One of those arrests included a 53-year-old from Louisville, who was arrested for possession of cocaine and other charges.
No boating accidents were reported, but the Monticello Wayne County 911 communications center reported a couple of incidents on the lake Saturday.
In one incident, a person ended up having to go to the hospital. There has been no word on that person's condition.
